About Urbi
Urbi believes that therapy is a journey, and the therapist is a guide and source of support for the client all through that journey. Believing every client is unique, she uses Person-centered and relational therapy approaches to address chronic emotional distress, complementing her sessions with play and humor to build strong therapeutic relationships.
Urbi holds a Master’s in Applied Psychology (specialization in Counseling and Psychotherapy) from Women’s Christian College, India, and a Play Therapy and Child Psychotherapy certification from The Canadian Association for Play Therapy, Toronto. Over her 18-year career across residential programs for immigrant children, schools, community mental health clinics, private practice, and special education schools.
A dedicated advocate for mental health education and awareness, Urbi is a seasoned speaker and trainer who regularly equips school professionals, clinicians, and community organizations with evidence-based strategies for treating trauma, anxiety, and relational health. She believes that widespread public education is essential to reducing stigma and ensuring individuals receive proactive, compassionate care. In her work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, she constantly strives to help her clients feel grounded and connected to their authentic selves.
